FA Cup 2022
Sat 14 May 2022 marks our annual FA Cup Charity day with a couple games and then a few drinks watching the Final on a big screen. We are delighted to have 2 matches, one against a Seapatrick FC Select and the other a Banbridge Football Club Select. Both clubs are marking their 75th anniversary.
Sadly it's a year ago since the total LEGEND John 'Slim' Willis who lost his battle to Cancer. Unfortunately due to Covid the big man didn't get the send-off he rightly deserved. Banbridge Evo Legends plan to remember him at our annual FA Cup charity day and help his much loved brothers Paul, George, and Victor. In raising money for local charity Banbridge Visually impaired club which was dear to his heart (And that isn't a joke about the referees on the day). We would love everyone to join us at Banbridge Football Club on Sat 14 May in what we hope is a celebration of his life.
John lost his battle to Cancer. Much loved husband of Sylvia, dear Son of the late Jos and Francis and a much loved brother of Paul, George, Eleanor and Victor.
John was a talented footballer widely recognised as one of Banbridge finest, he played For N Ireland Boys Club v England. Banbridge Town, Portadown, Glenavon, Newry Town and Armagh City Player/Manager, he also played with Seapatrick, Down Shoes and Banbridge Youth Club.
A talented golfer he was a member of Banbridge Golf Club and Downshire Golf Society.
Banbridge Town will be running a Barbeque throughout the day and bar will be open for plenty of liquid refreshment. After the games Chelsea and Liverpool will try and match our prowess in the FA Cup Final. And as if that wasn't enough it will be followed with a Band and music.
Bring your family along, your wives/girlfriends, kids and especially your wallet. Come support the teams, support the clubs in their anniversary year and especially help out a local charity.
